Juvederm
What is Juvederm Ultra XC®?
Juvederm Ultra XC® is a gel that is injected into the skin in order to add volume to lips and lift up wrinkles and folds. Juvederm Ultra XC® consists of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance already present in your body. Once in the skin, Juvederm Ultra XC® works by creating volume.

The most common areas for using Juvederm Ultra XC® are the marionette lines (from the corner of your mouth to your chin), the nasolabial folds (from the root of the nose to the angle of the mouth) and the lips, although other sites can also be treated.

Your Juvederm Ultra XC® Consultation:
When you meet with the physician, she will explain to you the Juvederm Ultra XC® treatment in detail, including the process and will assess your skin and review your medical history. You will be asked about any allergies you may have and what, if any, medications you are taking. All of your questions will be answered and the physician will determine if you are a good candidate for Juvederm Ultra XC®

The Juvederm Ultra XC® Procedure:
The Juvederm Ultra XC® treatment is performed by the physician. During treatment, the Juvederm Ultra XC® gel is injected into the skin with a very fine needle. When enhancing lips or facial contours, Juvederm Ultra XC® adds volume and integrates within your skin's tissue to smooth fine lines and wrinkles

Treatment with Juvederm Ultra XC® is a very quick and easy process. A treatment generally takes 30 minutes depending on the correction you wish to have performed.

Most people find the injections relatively painless. A topical and/or local anesthetic will be applied to the area being treated prior to your procedure.

The results can be seen immediately. The length of time the effect of a Juvederm Ultra XC® treatment lasts is very individual and depends on many factors, such as the structure of your skin, lifestyle, age, the degree of perfection demanded and the injection technique. The physician strives for natural looking results. Results with Juvederm Ultra XC® are expected to last up to 1 year, but results may vary.

Juvederm Ultra XC® Recovery:
Immediately after the Juvederm Ultra XC® treatment, you can expect slight redness, swelling, tenderness or an itching sensation in the treated area. These are normal results of the injection. The discomfort is temporary and generally disappears in a few days. After a lip treatment, the lips may become swollen and look somewhat uneven. This can persist for a few days (up to a week).

The physician will instruct you to not massage or rub the treated area during the first 48 hours after your Juvederm Ultra XC® treatment. Until the initial swelling and redness have resolved, do not expose the treated area to intense heat (i.e. in a solarium or by sunbathing). If you feel irritated, keep the site cool with an ice pack. Avoid taking any aspirin-based products for a few days.
Radiesse
What is Radiesse®?
Radiesse® is a dermal filler that temporarily adds volume to help smooth moderate to severe wrinkles and folds. Radiesse® is made of tiny calcium-based microspheres suspended in a water-based gel. The calcium microspheres are similar to minerals found naturally in the body so allergy testing is not required. Over time, the body absorbs the microspheres and gel, leaving behind only natural collagen.

The most common areas for using Radiesse® are the marionette lines (from the corner of your mouth to your chin) and the nasolabial folds (from the root of the nose to the angle of the mouth).
